What technical setup do I need to start?

You don't need new technology or special platforms. Most website builders and CMS options already support AI readability if configured correctly.
Basic requirements
Your site needs to be publicly accessible online (not behind a login). Pages should load without requiring users to enable JavaScript to see content. Your web host should allow standard crawlers access. Most mainstream hosts do; you only run into issues with extremely restrictive setups.
Platform considerations
WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow—all work fine for AI readability out of the box. The platform matters less than your configuration. Avoid hidden content behind paywalls, logins, or JavaScript rendering if you want AI systems to access it.
Configuration checklist
Ensure your `robots.txt` doesn't block all crawlers. Don't password-protect pages you want AI to read. Use proper HTML structure (heading tags, semantic elements) rather than styling everything to look like headings. Make sure pages load reasonably fast—five seconds is a rough threshold before some crawlers time out. If you're using a page builder that generates clean HTML, you're fine. If it creates bloated, JavaScript-heavy pages, consider alternatives or optimization.
